ESSENTIAL TO PEACE BRITISH LABOUR PARTY LEADER’S VIEW Recd 7.35 p.m. London, April 12. “British-Russian friendship is the only possible basis tor continuing the peace," said Professor Laski (president of the British Labour Party), addressing an Italian Socialist Congress at Florence. The British Labour Party’s policy was one of co-operation with Russia, but this did not imply servility towards, nor identity with, Soviet policy.
