OKOIA SCHOOL PICNIC
SUCCESSFUL DAY AS ARAMOHO PARK On Thursday, April 4, aided by a beautiful day and a willing band of lady helpers, the Okoia School held its annual picnic at Aramoho Park. Ice creams, soft drinks and lunch were provided. A good programme of races and novelties was enjoyed by all, each child receiving a prize. The results of the races are:— Girls (nrimers): M. Cameron 3. Girls’ sack race: J. Benson 1, F. Anderson 2. M. Anderson 3. Boys' sack race: B. Cowan 1, B. Thiele 2, W. Benson 3. Ladies’ sack race: Mrs. Martin 1, Mrs. Benson 2, Mrs. Caird 3. Ladies’ race: Mrs Martin 1, Miss T. McGrail 2, Mrs. B. O’Leary 3. Ladies’ nail driving: Mrs. D. Graham 1, Mrs. I. Caird 2, Mrs. B. O'Leary 3. Men's nail driving (sweepstake): Mr. A. Foster. Men’s handican race: Mr. Field 1. Mr. Gilligan 2, Mr. B. Oliver 3 Wheelbarrow race: Mrs. Thiele and Mr. Oliver 1. Relay: Mrs. Martin and Mrs. G. McGrail.
At. the conclusion. Mr.l. Caird presented Calf Club nrizes (o S. McGrail, A. Graham. T. McGrail, W. Benson, C. Singh and G. Singh.
