OWNERSHIP OF MERGER

JUDGES DISMISS APPEAL (P.A.) Wellington, April 9. The racing appeal by Mrs. J. Larsen against the decision of the Wanganui District Committee in relation to her complaint against E. C. Baker, licensed trainer and jockey, concerning the ownership of the horse Merger, which is raced by T. Dick, was heard by the appeal judges to-day. After considering the evidence given before the District Committee and hearing counsel for appellant and Baker, and also hearing additional evidence, the judges issued the following finding:— “We are satisfied that Mrs. Larsen signed the transfer of the horse Merger as required hv Rule 119 of the Rules of Racing as to change of ownership, thereby transferring the horse to T. Dick, who then became its owner in August, 1945. Her appeal is thereby dismissed.” The judges were Messrs. J. MacFarlane Laing, G. D. Beatson and R. J. Murphy.
