WAR WIDOWS’ PENSIONS
RESOLUTION OF PENSIONERS’ ASSOCIATION. At the annual meeting of the Wanganui Old Age Pensioners, to be held next Tuesday, the secretary (Mr. C. Heighten), has given notice that he intends to move the following resolution:— “That this association notes with dismay the difference in pensions between war and civilian widows, and insists that both classes of widows should have the same rate of pension.” It is also intended that the resolution should be sent to the Minister of Social Security and also the Member of Parliament for Wanganui (Mr. J. B. F. Cotterill).
