BEACH RESORT COTTAGES AT LAKE HURON Recd. 9.30 p.m. New York, March 9. Swept inshore by strong winds, huge ice-floes moved like a glacier toward rionable Lake resorts '•>re dawn, crushing *46 cottages. '/ floes cracked into tumbling blocks, grinding the cottages off their foundations. Ice piles as high as 40ft. are reported. Nobody was injured but one night-clad family had to be removed from danger by neighbours. Although the area is primarily a holiday resort many families have occupied the cottages due to the housing shortage.
