STEADILY MOUNTING
FUND FOR MARTON PEACE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL (0.C.) Marton, March 7. Marton residents are so keen on having a Peace Memorial Hospital that voluntary subscriptions totalling £2016 10s have already been received by the Mayor, Mr. F. Purnell, who is sponsoring the appeal. At a public meeting at the Druids’ Hall on Wednesday night more than 100 residents of Marton and district were unanimous that they wanted a new building consisting of six medical and surgical beds, plus a small operating theatre to be built on the site off Rira Street already donated to the Wanganui Hospital Board by the Misses J. D. and M. Wilson, of Bulls.
