BULLS R.S.A. CARNIVAL
SUCCESSFUL EFFORT (0.C.) Bulls, March 6. To raise £lOOO for the benefit of sick and wounded returned servicemen of Turakina, Rongotea, Sanson and Bulls, the Bulls branch of the Returned Services As-ociation organised a queen carnival; the carnival concluded with the raising of £3050 Is 3d. The placings in the carnival were: Miss Rangitikei. 91,212 votes (£ll4O 3s>; Miss Sanson. 54.671 (£683 7s 9d); Miss Turakina. 50.896 (£636 9s); Miss Rongotea, 47,226 (£590 6s fid). The last event in the contest was a concert by the pupils of the Parewanui School in the Bulls Town Hall when the announcement of the results was greeted with great enthusiasm. The climax of the carnival will be the coronation ceremony in the Bulls Town Hall on Friday, when Miss Rangitikei (Miss Beryl Mackay, daughter of the chairman of the Bulls Town Board) will be acclaimed.
