A decision lu Lncreasu number of taxi-cab licences in Auckland l.»> 25 has Leeh reached by the Metropol) tan Licensing Authority, according to a statement made by the chairman, Mr. VV. Il Nagle. This action fallowed ah inquiry wlrdi reviewed, the licence position on February 18 ami 19, and meant that there would be 36 more taxis operating ’in Auckland than before lhe war, a further 10 licences having been granted previously. “the Authority trusts this increase will result in an readjustment of the service Io the public, nart’cularly in the outer areas,” said Mr. Nagle. “If. however, that result, is not. forthcoming, then the Authority is prepared further to review the whole nosition.”
