TAIHAPE SALE The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Dist. Co., Ltd., report on the Taihape sale held on Wednesday as follows: “To a good attendance, but limited purchasing power, we submitted a yarding of 5600 sheep comprising 900 2-tooth ewes, 200 4-tooth and 6-tooth, 700 4-year, 2550 5-year and 550 wether lambs. Prices were in buyers’ favour, the dry conditions being responsible. Top price for 5-year ewes was 19s 7d for a pen of 154 on a/c. J. H. Thorpe, and for 4-year-olds 24s 4d was /paid lor a pen of 280, on a/c. A. M. Scott. In the 2-tooth section 25s was the price for 233 on a/c. E. W. Spooner. Vendors were not inclined to meet the market which found few buyers'apart from outstanding lots.” Prices.—2-tooth ewes, from 21s 7d to 255; 5-year ewes, 14s to 19s 7d; 4year ewes, 21s 3d to 24s 4d; shorn wether lambs, 6s to 10s.
