BIG ARMY VEHICLE PURCHASE

THEY MUST TRAVEL BY LAND FROM DARWIN

Reed. 8.30 p.m. Darwin, Jan. 29. A new overland trek is indicated following the Northern Territory’s bigges; disposal sale of used army vehicles. More than 200 were sold in the first day and buyers from ali States are bidding for a total of 1100 vehicles.

Ex-servicemen, from as far afield as Melbourne and Adelaide, were given a choice before the big buyers took over. As there is no chance of shipping any of the vehicles from Darwin, all must go overland. The buyers have been given six weeks to remove the vehicles, ranging from wrecks tn erratic goers. Sufficient petrol has been promised by the army.
