TRUMAN’S POLICY OPPOSED

ATTITUDE OF AMERICAN LABOUR FEDERATION Recd. 9 p.m. New York, Jan. 22. The president of the American Federation of Labour, Mr. Green, has issued a statement that the federation opposes President Truman’s legislative proposals for cooling off periods, factfinding boards and other projects intended to limit labour unions’ freedom in collective bargaining.

Mr. Green added that Mr. Truman was sincere in what he was trying to do, but, like many other sincere men, he was getting wrong information and wrong advice. The A.F.L. Council was greatly concerned lest A.F.L. unions should find themselves hampered by restrictive legislation passed as the result of C. 1.0. strikes, wherein they did not participate.
