The miners showed rapid improvement and were discharged, although all are still confined to their homes, where their condition is reported to be improving. This type of mishap is rare in the Reefton coalfield, where iiitle gas is found, and, following a formal inspection, naked lights are normal'y used by the men. t Mine inspectors to-day visited the mine, which is idle, but is expected to resume work next week. ,
