BY-ELECTION IN RAGLAN
NATIONAL CANDIDATE CHOSEN
Mr. Hallyburton-Johnstone, chairman of the Raglan County Council and well known in the district, was chosen yesterday as the National Party candidate to contest the Raglan by election, stated a Press Association message from Hamilton. The vacancy was created recently by the death ol Mr. R. G. Coulter (Labour;.
Mr. Hallyburton-Johnstone is a member of a well-known family in the electorate. He has been actively associated with many local and public organisations, notably s president of the Waikato Sub-provincial Executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, and latterly as provisional president of the newly-formed Waikato province of Federated Farmers.
