PRIVATE ENTERPRISE
RETAINED IN BRITISH INDUSTRY Recd. 11 p.m. Washington, Jan. 14. , Private enterprise would remain the great bulk of British industry and would receive drive and stimulus from the nationalisation programme, said Mr. Herbert Morrison at a National Press Club luncheon. He said: "We shall not nationalise from any desire to ree thei mplementation of an abstract Socialist theory, but from the fact that the industries concerned must be reorganised and placed at the efficient service of the country. We believe a combination of Government and private enterprise is a system particularly suited to the present British needs and circumstance.'. We shall keep our production going vigorously forward, get our export trade going, and make do with only what we need.”
