TWENTY THOUSAND STATE HOUSES
CEREMONY AT WELLINGTON TO-MORROW (P.A.) Wellington, Jan. 15. Possession of the 20,000 th house erected by the State will be taken by a returned serviceman on Thursday afternoon. The house is in Strathmore Park, a Wellington suburb, ai fc l the Housing Department, will hold a ceremony when the serviceman takes possession.
Mr. Semple said to-day that the construction of housing was no mern task under the difficult circumstances that have existed, but as manpower and materials became more plentiful the building figures would be increased.
