TAIHAPE NOTES
MISS DOROTHY MICKLESON FAREWELLED (0.C.) Taihape, Jan. 14. On a recent evening Tiriraukawa Hall was packed to capacity when a farewell dance was extended to Miss Dorothv Mickleson, who is leaving the district to reside in Palmerston North. Visitors were present from Taihape and the surrounding districts.
At the supper interval opportunity was taken to present to the guest of honour a fireside chair. In making the presentation Mr. J. Thorpe said he was sure Miss Mickleson would be
greatly missed by her many friends. He was an old friend as he had been introduced to her when she was only t\\ o weeks old.
Rev. Father Doolaghty also extended his verv bes' wishes and said he was sure Miss Mickleson would be greatly missed for her kindness and hospitality, especially to those "passing by.” Mr. C. C. Mickleson responded on behalf of his sister and said that she would always remember the evening and the kindness her many friends had extended. He was quite sure she would always extend a hearty welcome to those visiting Palmerston North Mr. A. G. Coleman read out numerous apologies and the evening concluded with dancing Io music supplied by Mrs. R. Mickleson. of Win!ata, and Miss K. O’Brien. Taihape-
