Protests that certain radio programmes and films were harmful to the educational development of children. were made by delegates at the concluding session of the Australian Teachers’ Federation conference. “Teachers are alarmed that children’s minds are being stuffed with radio nonsense from 6 to 9 p.m.” said Mr. R. S. Raggatt, of South Australia. “The thrills and spills of radio sessions are a grave danger. Too ma’iv children listen to sessions which hold up to ridicule the whole of Australian life.” /
