Commodore H. B. Crane, who is in charge of the Royal Naval Barracks in Australia, will leave in the destroyer Amethyst to-day for New Zealand, where he will spend three weeks on a fishing holiday.—(Press Assn.) The Rev. Father Bernard Bourke, S.M., will join the leaching staff of St. Augustine’s High School, Wanqpnui, this year. Father Bourke was recently on the teaching staff of St. Patrick’s College, Wellington. His appointment brings the staff at St. Augustine’s, which was opened last year, to three. Principal is the Rev. Father Mannix, who has been assisted by the Rev. Father Stapleton. The Rev. J. H. Deane, 8.A., 8.D., a former vice-principal of the Baptist College of New South Wales, arrived by flying boat from Sydney to take up his appointment as principal of the New Zealand Bible Training Institute, Auckland, in succession to the Rev. J. O. Sanders, who has become home director of the China Inland Mission for Australia and New Zealand. He was accompanied by his wife, and their five children.—Press Assn.
Captain N. D. Cullen, secretary of the. Wanganui Harbour Board, who is in England studying modern methods of harbour administration and port accounting, has completed his term with the Port of London Authority. He is now with the Clyde Navigation Trust and will later go on to Mersey Docks and Harbour Board, and hopes to leave for New Zealand next month.
