CROSBY TOP STAR AGAIN Los Angeles, Jan. 9. | Bing Crosby has been named, America's top box office star for the second consecutive year in the annual exhibitors’ poll conducted by Motion ■ Picture Herald. Idol of the bobby-soxers, Van John- ! son made sensational progress bv run-, nmg second, although he was not among the first 25 last. year. Others making up the first ten in I the order named were: Greer Garson, Petty Grable, Spencer Tracy, Hum-;' phrey Bogart, and Gary Cooper (tied for sixth), Bob Hope, Judy Garland, Margaret O’Brien, the child star, and Rov Rogers. Rogers, the cowboy star, also won ! the Western pull. Greer Garson rose | from sixth last year, and Hopei dropped from Ihiid, while Judy Garland regained the top ten alter a! three-year absence.
