GERMANS “BOO” BRITISH ARMY FOOTBALLERS

Recd. 6 p.m. London, Jan. 7. German spectators booed, howed and cat-called everything the British Army football learn did during the “goodwill” match against the Hamburg Sporting Club, one of Germany’s premier football teams, says the

“Daily Mail’s” correspondent. The British won by two goals to nil. Army observers were present to watch the German reaction to the game, which was one of the first major games played in accordance with Field-Marsha! Viscount Montgomery’s edict that sporting contests between the British Army and the Germans should be encouraged. The value of this kind of fraternisation is still in doubt after to-day’s game.
