BULLS NOTES
THE PLUNKET SOCIETY (0.C.) Bulls, Dec. 23. Last Monday the committee and mothers of the Bulls Plunket Society held an afternoon in the Clifton Hall to farewell Miss Mason, the plunket nurse, who i s leaving at the end of the month. In presenting Miss Mason with a posy and a dressing case, the president, Mrs. Milton Brookie, wished her every happiness and success in her new position. Mis Mason had been guide, philosopher and friend to practically everyone present, and it was with very real regret that they had gathered to say goodbye. Miss Mason in returning thanks said she. too, was very sorry to be leaving for she had always been very happy working in their midst but as it was promotion she had to move on. She thanked the mothers and committee for the willing and ready co-operation she had always been accorded. COMBINED QUEEN CARNIVAL “Unique in a country school and equal to the best to be found in a city school,” was the comment of Mrs. Milton Brookie, when, on behalf of the Queen Carnival Committee, she thanked the children of the Parewanui School and the headmaster (Mr. Abraham) for the outstanding concert they presented in Apa House, Parewanui, this vveek as their contribution to Miss Rangitikei. Items such as choral recitation, part singing, play acting and numerous other items were presented in a polished manner and delighted the audience. The outstanding performer in the plays presented were Maurice Ellery as the dragon and Maurice Brookie as the king. In the junior play, Dell Homes and Rex Warbrick performed with credit. Other items given were by Mrs. Brookie (songs) and Mr. Abraham (violin sols). Mrs. Abraham played all the accompaniments. During the evening a presentation was made to the infant mistress, Miss Lederer, who is to teach next year in Levin. Beth Homes made the presentation on behalf of the senior pupils and Elizabeth Ellery on behalf of the younger pupils. Mr. Abraham, in a short speech, said it was the regret of everyone that Miss Lederer was leaving and on their behalf wished her every success in her new appointment. The children were served with ice cream and soft drinks and after supper the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing
