DERBY CONTESTANTS AT ELLERSLIE
(Special) Auckland, Dec 21. Several Great Northern Derby candidates will be racing at Ellerslie on Boxing Day, although the two southern three-year-olds, Al-Sirat and Master Robin, may not be produced until the second day. Lady Foxoridge, a nice Jilly, is in th? hack race on Wednesday, and Beau Martain, Kerry Lad and Riverview are in the mile Christmas Handicap. Most interest will centre on the form of Balmaeara and King’s Pride in the Railway Handicap, in which race, too, ar? the fillies Good Company ancl White Blaze. Balmaeara has yet to bo beaten, but it is considered by many that King's Pride will prove to he the best stayer of the northern three-year-olds. were lighting out. and then left them to it. The big dividend-payer is an aged black gelding by Raceful from Lady Chum and this is his first season of racing. It was a sensational sequal to five successive failures.
