Sister Rachel Robertson, Wanganui, is visiting relatives at Hamilton. Mrs. Ivo Carr, Dunedin, who has been visiting Marton, is spending the Chris, mas vacation at Tauranga. Miss Patricia Ryan, Wellington, and i Miss Maiie O’Neill, Trentham, have arrived in Wanganui to spend Christmas with the latter’s mother, Mrs. P. A. O’Neill. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Pencireigh and family have left Wanganui for a camping holiday to Taupo, Ro.orua and Tauranga. Miss N. Ada Partridge, of Palmerston North, is convalesing at her parents’ home in Glasgow Street, after being an inmate of the hospital for the past month. Miss Grace M. Gane, who last year established the speech clinic at Wanganui Intermediate School, has been appointed to a posi Jon on the lecturing staff of the Christchurch speech therapy clinic and has left Wanganui for the South Island. She will begin her new duties when schools reopen next year, ENGAGEMENTS Aves—Sievers—The engagement is announced of Sydney Rachel, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Sievers, St. John’s Hill, Wanganui, and Charles John Francis, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Aves, Wanganui. Lucas—Staples.— The engagement Is announced between Nancv Lydia, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. A. S. Staples, Marton, and Herbert Daniel, second son of Mrs. and the late Mr. H. Lucas, Cambridgeshire, England.
