STRONG REPRESENTATIONS BY NEW ZEALAND (P.A.) Parliament Bldgs., Dec. 4. As soon as information was received, very strong renresentations were made to the United Kingdom Government to countermand orders to discontinue the R.A.F. Transport Command Pacific service said the Minister of Defence in the House of Representatives this afternoon in reply to an urgent question by Mr. E. I’. Adcrman (Opp., New Plymouth). Mr. Jones said tl n New Zealand Government were advised that with the cessation of hostilities egainst Japan the service could no longer be justified on military ground.'-. The nossibility of instituting a civil air service across the Pacific as an interim arrangement pending th? inauguration of regular British <u nmonwealth Pacific service was, however, being explored and the New Zealand Government wore at pre awaiting the further views of the UniKingdom authorities.
