POLISH SOLDIERS ON WAY HOME

FIRST TRAIN LOAD FROM ITALY LEAVES

Recd. 9 p.m. Rome, Nov. 24. The first train-load carrying 1000 of 14,000 Poles from General Ander’s Army Corps, who have decided to go home, will start the 1000-mile journey to-morrow. British guards will accompany the train, which will later be joined by Russian, Polish and Czech officials.

The Polish troops will carry rifles, machine-guns and automatic weapons, which will be a goodwill gift from the Allied Headquarters to the Polish Government. The British authorities are also providing rations anti medical supplies for the journey, which is expected to lake a week. Thirteen other train-loads of Poles are leaving Italy at two-day intervals until the evacuation is complete.
