RECORD ENTRIES FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS (P.A.) Christchurch, Nov. 10. Record entries have been received for the New Zealand bowling championships, which will start i* Christchurch on January 8 and extend over a fortnight. The secretary of the New Zealand Bowling. Association, Mr. S. F. Marshall. said this morning that he had received 1730 entries, with more to come, thus eclipsing the previous record of 1724 received for the 1945 championships. Entries closed to-day, but more are expected hy mail on Monday. Accommodation and markers and umpires for the singles games are still major problems for the .association, although progress has tfeen made in securing hotel rooms or board in private homes for lhe \ isitinr players.
