JUNIOR RED CROSS EXHIBITION
WANGANUI AND DISTRICT AWARDS. At the National Junior Red Cross Exhibition, recently held in Wellington, circles in the Wanganui Centre area won several prizes in the competitions associated with the exhibition, for which entries were received from all parts of the Dominion. The Wanganui Girls’ College was awarded first for thrift article, first for doll dressed in school uniform, and first for health posters. Turakina Maori Girls’ College gained second for international posters, and special diploma: Portfolio. In the section for collection of any three Maori articles, Pipiriki Native School won second place. Nga T'awa School (Marton) was awarded third place for dressed doll other than in school uniform, and special: Woden cot. A special went to Glyneath School for soft toys (penguin). Durie Hill sent in an autographed quilt for exhibition. The above named ci ivies are to be congratulated on securing so large a portion of the prizes. The Red Cross Centre adds Iheir appreciation.
