OBITUARY

MR. FRANK WILLIS Mr. Frank Willis, whose death occurred in Wellington at lhe age of 76, was one of the oldest past pupils of the Wanganui Collegiate School, where he studied under the la‘e Mr. G. R. Saunders, between 1879 and 1883. He was the eldest son of the late Mr, A. D. Willis, M.P. for Wanganui for several years. Mr. Willis had had more than 40 years’ experience in insurance, and up to within three months of his death he was inspector-superintendent for the Mutual Life and Citizens’ Assurance Company. Prominent in boxing, athletics, cricket and cycling in his earlier years, Mr. Willis had a wide circle of friends in Wanganui, and as an angler he had a New Zealand reputation. In more recent years he took a prominent and active part in bowling. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Mr. Willis is survived by his wife (formerly Miss Amelia Dix), a son, Mr. J. D. Willis, of Wellington, and a daughter, Mrs. Doreen Pope, also of Wellington. Messrs. V. B. Willis, N. Willis, and A. A. Willis are brothers and Mrs. I. Cheers and Miss F. Willis are sisters.

The funeral will take pldcc at Wei lington to-day.
