AIR FORCE RELATIONS
COMMITTEE ENTERTAINED. A very happy gathering took place yesterday, when members of Air Force Relations (Wanganui) entertained the committee at a social aiternoon as a mark of appreciation and thanks for the services jendered. j he party tooK place in uusiins learoom, vvnich Wik, beautifully decorated w.th bowls of Iceland poppies, yellow flowering shrub, lachanalia and grape hyacinths. There were about 13u present. Mrs. W. J. Robinson, in welcoming all present, said it was gratifying to see so many there and it was a trioute to tne committee. She spec.ally welcomed mis. £>. G. ivialen, a former president ol Wanganui A.F.R., who now resides in raimerston North.
Mrs. J. C. Batt expressed appreciation of the valuable services rendered to tlie organisation py tne holders, past and present. She *saia they had been enthusiastc, efficient ana energetic. w.th the result tnau the organisation had functioned smootno. i>eioie presenting norai tokens to each of wnich was attached a note of appreciation, to past anu present members ot the committee, Mrs. Batt mentioned the late Mrs. .. A. Hair, the first pres dent of A.F.R,. and asked all to stand as a mark 01 respect to her and or remembrance. Gift boxes of Howers were presented to -Mr.,. M.llen, past presrient, anti Mrs. C. F. White, president. Mrs. Millen, thanking the members for the invitation to be present and for the flowers, ssid A.F.R. nad liilecl a very big place in her heart, and although she had lift Wanganui ther<# had not been a day when sne had nor remembered them. She spoKe ot the good work done by A.F.R. for the ouys overseasMrs. While tharked the member.: for the floral tribute. Speaking for the committee, she wanted lo say i hat Ihe committee could never have done the work without the sympathy and support of the members. She paid a tribute to tlie members for all they had done and spoke of the friendship and affection that had resulted from the organisation. Because all had put so much into A.F.R. they had taken so much out. There had been sympathy, generosity and love.

Gatward, P. Greager, John, ton, Garland Jones, A. H. Mac Lean, E. W. Mereweiher.E. Ross, Sievers, F. P. Taiboys, Takarangi, r. H. Ward, W. Willis, Mrs. Bird (nee Miss J. Harman) and the Press.
Songs by Mrs. A. C. Sievewi .ght, elocutionary items by Mr.:. T. L. Sperring, pianoforte solo by Mrs. R. N.Wilson and part songs by members of the Girls' College choir were very much enjoyed. The hostesses were Mesdames Papps and Bebarfald. Tne bouquets and decorations were the work of Mesdames W. .1. Robinsen, J. C. Batt, G. Cooke and Papps. A delicious afternoon ten was served.
