AMATEUR BOXING
BOLTS IN OPERA HOUSE TO-MOR-ROW NIGHT. Arrangements are well in hand for the amateur boxing tournament, to be held in the Opera House to-morrow night, under the control of the newly revived Wanganui Boxing Association. The best boxing talent from a wide area will be seen in action, and some spirited bouts are in prospect. Two members of the Wanganui executive were in Wellington last week and saw six boxers who are to appear in the Opera House to-morrow night, and they were more than pleased with the type of lighter who will take the ring in Wanganui. The local boxers have been undergoing preparations and are confident of giving a good account of themselves. Young Cliff Head, the local bantam, won his first fight at Hawera on Saturday night. He will be competing in the Taranaki championships next week.
