Recd. 7.35 p.m. London, Aug. 21J The Allied commander in South-East. .Asia, Admiral Mountbatten, over the New Delhi radio, transmitted instruc-' tions to Field-Marshal Count Teruchi, [ commander of the Japanese Southern Army, stating that Teruchi must send i representative, with plenipotentiary owers, to the Moulmein aerodrome, August 23. to meet Admiral Mount»atten’s chief of staff to arrange for he orderly surrender of all Japanese and, sea and air forces under i’eruchi’s command Admiral Mountbalte.i instructed Teruchi that he must supply information covering the strength of the land, sea and air forces under his command, charts of all sea minefields, and details of swept channels, besides charts of all anti-tank and anti-personnel m ne■plds on land.
