COMBINED CARNIVAL

FORMATION OF COMMITTEES PROPOSED TO-NIGHT

A meet nig of organisations likely to be interested in the combined carnival to be run in Wanganui during the next three months will be held in the City Council Chambers at 7.45 o’clock to-night. The meeting will discuss the organising ana forming of various committees to raise funds for the three projects involved. In the first place, the Registered Nurses Association plans to provide a suitable club hall in Wanganui for its members. Extension of the present club-rooms is planned by the Wanganui branch of the R.S.A. The major project involved is the building of the Scots’ Memorial Hall, the site for which, a vacant section between Wicksteed and Watt Streets, with part of the frontage on Cameron Terrace, has been purchased with funds provided for the purpose by an anonymous donor.
