RURAL AMENITIES
Sir,- It is almost, ten years since I wrote in to the local Power Board suggesting that the reticulation of the Tokomaru East and Tokomaru West districts be carried out by them. I got a very short, stiff reply which angered me so much that I immediately wrote to the Hon. Mr. R. Semple Minister of Public Works, etc., asking him what, could be done. He replied that the Power Board had all the say- he ecu Id not help me.
Now sir, your retort to “Ex Baek Country Settler” that a roster is in course of preparation etc., for future extensions, is in my opinion absolutely without effect as far as our chances of ever receiving the electric service we require is concerned. I can only judge by my past experience. However, I have a son; and I am hoping I hat some day—-within the next. 25 years—he may enjoy what his mother and I should have been enjoying for the past 10 years.— I am, etc., A. D. KITTO
