GISBORNE BEATS KING’S

Gisborne, Aug. 19. The King's College Rugby team in the third match of its tour, was defeated by 11 points to 8 by Gisborne High School in a brilliant display before a record crowd on Saturday. Gisborne, unbeaten this season found King's much stronger than any previous opposition particularly when the backs went Into action. Gisborne took the lead early with two opportunist tries but the Aucklanders played brilliantly In the second spell to even the scores at 8-all. With 20 minutes to go the Gisborne forwards, in a do-or-die effort smashed through to score the deciding try. Gilmour and Hansen scored for King’s Gilmour converting his own try.
