THANKSGIVING SERVICE (0.C.) Waitotara, Aug. 19. Because of the weather, most of the arrangements n ude for peace celebrations at Waitotara were postponed. A thanksgiving service was held at. the Town Hall, at which there was a large attendance. The speakers were the Rev. P. A. Stanley and Rev. M. G. Milmine. The Maori choir took part in the singing. Afr.ei the service the children were entertained, each child receiving an icecream, apples and free tickets for the pictures. A victory dance was held in the evening, and the Maoris gave a number of hakas, etc. There were also several jolly parties at private homes.
