MONTHLY MEETING IN WANGANUI
Al the August meeting of Army Relations held yesterday, the president, Mrs. W. Searle, in welcoming members and visitors and several repatriated p- isoners of war, said all wouid rejoice that the war was ended. She announced that next months meeting would be the las., to bn held, when a special wind-up social afternoon would be held, and there would not be a trading stall. With the sanction of members the money in hand will be given to the following organisations: Red Cross, Y.M.C.A., Heritage, and the Parish Hall. Sympathy was expressed with the relatives of the late Mrs. E. N. Fowler, all standing in silence as a mark of respect. Sympathy was also expressed with a number of members who are ill, and with Mrs. H. G. Hors!tv, who recently piet with an acci-
dent. breaking a leg. The president voiced her thanks to he workers who had been sewing for i’NRRA specially mentioning Mestk.mes Stewart (convener) Baxter I (’alman, Lilburne and Wadey, and others who had assisted. A spray was presented to Mrs. R. K. Go. don. whose husband, Major Gordon, a repatriated prisoner of war, was the speaker fol he afternoon.
