CHRIST CHURCH MOTHERS’ UNION
The annual meeting of the Christ Church Mothers’ Union was an admission service conducted by the Ven. Archdeacon J. R. Young, M.A. Door hostesses in the Parish Hall were Mesdames Timbs and Giddings. The flowers used to decorate the hall were on sale for the. Maori mission work at Koroniti.
A musical item was given by Mrs. O. Weir, accompanist, Mrs. Ancell. Mrs. Lambert, spoke on her visit to Wellington r 4 d gave a description of Frederick Wallis House at Lower Hutt. This beautiful building standing in two acres of ground was donated by Mrs Wallis as a memorial to her husband. a former Bishop of Wellington. Wallis House is now head of the Oecumenical Movement for New Zealand.
The enrolling member spoke briefly on some impressions of Synod and she also represented the branch at the Mothers’ Union Council meeting at which Mrs. Holland presided.
Members were reminded of the Corporate Communion Service held each Wednesday following the meeting.
