VINSON NOMINATED
NEW SECRETARY OF U.S. TREASURY Recd. 6 p.m. Washington, July 16. President Trumafi has nominated Mr. Frederick M. Vinson, junr., Secretary of the Treasury, in succession to Mr. Henry Morgenthau. The President had planned to forward Mr. Vinson’s name after the Potsdam Conference, but he took action now to meet Mr. Morgenthau’s reouest that his successor should be named without delay. No appointment has been announced for the position of Director of War Mobilisation.
