Mr. G. P. Aldridge, secretary of the New Zealand Boxing Association, is visiting Wanganui. Mr. K. Harris, formerly accountant for the Palmerston North Hospital Board, has taken over his new duties as secretary of the Wanganui Hosp-ita! Board Warrant Officer Keith J. Coombe. Marton, who has been awarded the M.8.E., is a son of Mr. S. Coombe. Tc Kuiti, and formerly of Marton. Before the war Warrant Officer Coombe was on the staff of the Wanganui Rangitikei Electric-Power Board, Marton. The Rev. Neville Watkins, who will preach at the half-yearly Day of Giving to-morrow at St. Peter’s Cnurch, Gonville, will be the guest of the Bible Class at a social gathering tonight. The Wanganui East Anglican Bible Class will be associated with to.light’s function. A Christchurch message reports the death of Mr. Frederick Wilding, New Zealand’s senior King’s Counsel, who had a record of more than 60 years’ active legal practice, commencing in Christchurch in 1879. He was the father of Anthony Wilding, famous New Zealand and international tennis champion.
