HITHER AND THITHER District Nursing League At the April meeting of the Wangauni District Nursing League, held in St. Paul’s committee room, Sister Park reported that 548 visits had been paid, 15 new patients, listed, three sent lo hospital, 7 were discharged, and 56 remain on the books. The visitors for the month were Mesdames McNab and Coupland. Owing to the recent Queen Carnival and its many calls on the public the League thought it lilting lo postpone its street appeal ior May 9, until May of 1946. Magill, J.P., Dip.Soc.Sc.) from the executive of the New Zealand Educational Institute on her retirement from the teaching service, is referred to in the annual report of the N.Z.E.I. executive. “Miss Magill’s record of institute sei vice is a particularly notable one,” the report says.* “She was an executive member since 1926 and was elected president in 1934, being the only woman member to hold the highest office of the institute. The members of the executive place on record their appreciation of Miss Magill’s long and distinguished service and on behalf of all members wish her a long and happy retirement.”
