BOWLING GREEN CLOSING. (0.C.) Waverley, April 25. At a committee meeting of lhe Waverley • Bowling Club, over which Mr. P. G. Bremer presided, it was decided to close the green on Saturday, April 28, and an invitation is to be extended to neighbouring clubs to attend on that day. The Social Committee was given permission to use the club pavilion for functions during the winter months and the president, asked Mr. Morgan to convey to lhe Social Committee the thanks of the club for its activities. WAVERLEY (HI T EVENING. An enjoyable time was spent one evening last, week when Mrs. J. E. Peapell and Miss J. Burdock were hostesses at a gift evening in honour of Miss Yvonne Dalrymple, whose marriage takes place this week. Cards and dancing were enjoyed and several competitions, some of which were won by Miss J. Hodge and Miss A. Johnston. Miss Dalrymple wore a floral fioc!: and a matching pink spray. RETURNED SER VIC EM EN WELCOMED. Waverlev soldiers who returned home on Saturady, after more than three years’ in lhe Middle East, were given an enthusiastic welcome by friends on the Waverley Station. The soldiers who returned were: Pte. C. Dallison, Tpr. H. Lupton, Pie. J. Beirne and Pte. D. Lance. Among those io welcome them were, the chairman of the Town Board, Mr. A. B. Cunningham, the secretary of the R.S.A. and the chairman of ihe Citizens Committee. Mr. J. J. Johnston.
