FOR REHABILITATION
ADVISORY SUB-COMMITTEES APPOINTED ' Four advisory sub-committees for I rehabilitation have been appointed in the Wanganui district and are now functioning, stated the Wanganui Rehabilitation officer, Mr. A. R. Lowe, yesterday. The primary object in setting un ;l .hese committees, said Mr. Lowe was !to provide a wider coverage for rehabilitation activities and so make inhumation regarding the various forms of assistance available to ex--1 -ervicemen in their own towns • ‘ hrough their own townspeople. These ' jommittees do not have the powers 1 f the general committees which have ■j been operating for some time past, y. Lather, it is their duty to assist and ‘ "ivise what may be called the “parnt” committees. I While their functions are entirely ’. dvisory they can be of immense as. i stance in rehabilitation work, added | Mr. Lowe. Their knowledge of local conditions, of business openings and of ; ‘x-servicemen themselves, together I with their personal contact and recomj mendations in connection with loan" f all descriptions, should considerably strengthen the rehabilitation set-un which is actively functioning in this district. Full support has been promised by the committees and the enthusiasm of individual members augurs well for the future.
