RETURNED SERVICES ASSOCIATION A notice of motion to increase the committee from five to eight members will be considered at the annual meeting of the Marton R.S.A., which will be held in the Druids’ Hall on Tuesday next. Nominations for the officers and committee dosed on Monday, and arc as follows:—President, Mr. G. B. Gregory; secretary, Mr. G. H. Denbow; treasurer, Mr. H. L. Grut; committee Messrs C. R. Brant. A. S. Campbell, B. R. Crutchley, R. L. Eskrick, M. C. Fenwick e, C. M. Holdaway, N. A. Ingle, G. J. Lightfoot A. Low C. E. Maclean. C. C. McDonald. P. T. Shannon, J. W. Middleton, G. C. Thomas and T. C. Ward. COURT LITTLE JOHN A.O.F. There was a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of Court Little John on Tuesday evening. P.C.R. Bro. G. W. Grey presided. Foresters Credit Union matters were discussed and several members took up shares. Official visits of district officers were discussed. Nominations of officers will take place at the next meeting on May 22, and as several new officers are required a full attendance is expected/ VICTORY WAR LOAN. In proposing Mr. A. J. Petrie as secretary of the Marton. Committee of the Victory War Loan, the Mayor (Mr. F. Purnell) stated that Mr. Petrie had been of great strength to the committee and had put in a lot of work to make the appeal a success. The appointment was carried by acclamation. Mr. Petrie thanked the Mayor for his kind remarks. He said he would be pleased to help all he could. Various matters were fully discussed, such as wool retention money and transferring of loan money falling due. These, and other points in connection with the loan, were left in the hands of the committee. MARTON GOLF CLUB. The following is the draw for a bogey competition to be played by the Marton Golf Club on Saturday, commencing at. 1.15 p.m.: Morrison, Coch- ( ran and Glasgow; Rubery. Bertram and Sladden; Collier, Allen and Howard; Christensen, Eves and A. Fuller-ton-Smith; Anderson, Torrens and Shannon; Gbbons, A. H. Marshall and Fenwicke; Clarke, Macklow, Amon; Greig, Caverhill and Ellery; Fitches, Tidy and Dukeson; Gaisford, Church and F. A. Fullerton-Smith; H. K. C. Marshall and Oliver. Yankee singles competition may be played in conjunction with the above matches. Anyone unable to play please advise P. Shannon or N. If. Clarke. MARTON LADIES’ GOLF CLUB. Holden s residence (gas works), at 2.30 p.m., instead of from St. Andrew’s Hall, as previously advised. RANGITIKEI RUGBY UNION. Marton Senior B. The following will represent the Marton Senior B team against Ohingaiti. at Ohingaiti to-morrow: Zander, Lampp, Gray, Hogan, Hamer, Church, Keystone, Dommett, Young, Kane, Whale, Stantiall, Bostock, StanfieH Fowler, Wysocki, George. The bus will leave at 1 o’clock and the game will start at 3 p.m. Old Boys Thirds. Mr. Lloyd Hammond will address members on important matters at the annual meeting of the Marton branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, which will be held in the Marton Jockey Club’s rooms to-night (Friday) at 7.30 p.m. All members are urged to attend.
