Ohi RACING CLUB NOMiPiAIIONS
A ihree-duy fixture will be held at Tientham in January by. the Wellington Racing Club, the summer meeting being set down lor Saturday and Monday, January 20 and 22, and the patriotic meeting for the following Saturday, January 27. Nominations for all events are due to close at 5 p.m. on Thursday next, January 4, at which time forfeits are also due for the Wellington Stakes. The Wellington Cup will again carry a stake of £5OOO, including a gold" cup valued at £l5O. The Telegraph Handicap will be worth £l5OO and the Anniversary Handicap and the Wellington Stakes £lOOO each. The Wellington Racing Club Handicap on the second day is worth £2750, the Metropolitan Handicap £l5OO and the January Handicap £lOOO. A feature hack event on the second day is the Douro Handicap, with a stake of £BOO, the winner’s share being £520. fhe minimum stake on the first two days will be £550, winners of these race s will get £385, and therefore all winners will be automatically out of hack class. For the patriotic meeting stakes will be on the lower scale set down for such fixtures, the Patriotic Handicap being worth £lOOO, but there will also be the Staff Cup Handicap, a hack race carrying a stake of £4OO with a gold cup worth £lOO presented by the club’s staff.
