APPEALS DISMISSED IN CAITHNESS CASE
SUSPENSION INCREASED
(P.A.) Wellington, Oct. 17. The appeals of P. Louis (owner). H. A. Telford (trainer) and J. A. McFarlane (jockey) against the six months’ disqualification imposed by the judicial committee of the Otaki Maori Racing Club in connection with the running of Caithness in the Ling Memorial Handicap on October 7 were dismissed by the Wellington District, Committee and Ihe term of disqualification for each appellant was increased Io one year. The deposits of £5 each wore ordered to be forfeited.
This information was supplied by one of the appellants, Louis, who also stated that on the advice of counsel each appellant would lodge a furthet appeal to the Racing Conference appeal judges.
