BOMBS ON BREMEN

ALLIED AIR ACTIVITY FEW LOSSES REPORTED Reed. 11.15 p.m. London, Sept. 18. Royal Air Force Mosquitoes attacked Bremen last night and left many fires burning. Airfields were also attacked by other aircraft during the night. All the planes got back safely. The German radio reports Allied bomber formations pproaching the Baltic area over Pomerania. Fighter formations were reported as over the Branderburg region, in which is situated Berlin. During the 12 hours up to 8 a.m. today, Allied Bomber Command had sent out 1250 planes on various missions over Europe and not one has been lost. A strong force of Bomber Command Lancasters in daylight last evening dropped nearly 700 tons of bombs in a concentrated attack on important gun positions of the German garrison on Walcheren Isle, at the mouth of the Scheldt. The weather was clear and the target was visually identified. Flushing is situated on Walcheren. SHUTTLE BOMBING OF TARGETS IN EUROPE Recd. 8 London. Sept. 18. Fortresses ar\ Mustangs returned to England jestefelay after completing the United States Bth. Air Force's third shuttle mission between England, Russia and Italy, Tlie Fortresses bombed armament plants in Germany, Hungary, but did not encounter enemy fighters at any stage and returned home without loss. Marauders, last night, flew over German garrisons holding out on the Brittany and Channel coast and dropped four million leaflets containing news of the critical position of the German armies in Germany and Holland.
