WANGANUI MEN KILLED IN ACTION TWO FAMILIES LOSE TWO SONS EACH Two sons of Mr. H. T. Coombe aryl the late Mrs. E. M. Coombe, Glasgow Street, Wanganui, have been killed in action in recent weeks. They are Flight-Sergeant H. G. Coombe, R.N.Z.A.F., and Sergeant Malcolm Coombe, 2nd N.Z.E.F. Both were born in Wanganui and received their primary education at the Keith Street School, Avenue School, and later attended the Wanganui Technical College. Before the war, Flight-Sergeant Coombe was employed at the Wanganui Steel Pine and Engineering Co., and later with the New Zealand Refrigerating Co., Imlav. He played hockey for the Star Club. His wife is Mrs. G. Coombe, Wanganui. CORPORAL’S DEATH

Reported killed in action, Corporal James P. Anderson, 2nd N.Z.E.F., was a son of Mr. anc Mrs. H. A. Anderson, Wangaehu. Born in Otorohanga 23 years ago, he attended the Wanganui Collegiate School where he stroked his house crew in Inter-house rowing races. Corporal Anderson was farming with his father before the war. and before going overseas, about 12 months ago, had been on home service for three years. Another brother. Pilot-Officer'F. H. Anderson, R.N.Z.AF., lost his life about three years ago. He. too, was an old boy of the Collegiate School.
