DEATHS OF FISHERMEN

THE CORONER’S FINDING (P.A.) Christchurch, July 5. An inquest was conducted rn Christchurcn io-dav by the coroner, Mr. F. F. Reid into the deaths ’ of John Henry Guyton, aged 47. and Sydney Bensley, aged 25, of Poll Charmers, fishermen, who were drowned in the launch Hope, on Jin.c J). The verdict was that both men were accidentally drowned oil’ Ninety Mile Beach, when their boat laundered. It was ckar from the evidence, the coroner said, that the fishermen ha I been caught in what was obviously an exceptional storm and also that the launch was quite seaworthy. “The fact that it stayed ns long afloat as it did.” he remarked, "is evidence of that, fact.” It was also apparent, he said, that the men were experienced fishermen.
