WIDOW RECEIVES V.C.
LATE FLYING-OFFICER LLOYD ALLAN TRIGG (P.A.) Whangarei, May 28. The Victoria Cross awarded posthumously to the late Flying-Officer Lloyd Alan Trigg, was presented to his widow to-dav by the GovernorGaneral, Sir Cyril Newall, who, with, Lady Newall, flew from Auckland to Kaitaia, and were motored to Victoria Valley, where the deceased airman spent his boyhood days. Mrs. Trigg and her two sons had flown from New Plymouth earlier in lhe week, and were the guests of the V.C.’s brother, Mr. C. B. Trigg. The ceremony was marked by simplicity and sincerity. The only persons present, in addition Io the Vice-c*egal party, were an 83-year-old grandmother of the deceased, Mrs. Charles White. Mrs. Lloyd Trigg and her two little sons. Private A. H. Trigg, wearing the singnia of an overseas draft, the only sister of deceased, Mrs. Neil Reynolds, of Whangarei. and the host and hostess. After a group photo had been taken on the verandah, Sir Cyril and Lady Newall returned bv air to Auckland. Sir Cyrjl Newall also presented the widow with the D.F.C. won by her late husband.
