WAVERLEY DANCE

A dance in honour of five soldiers, Messrs. Hw. Powell, Perkins, Swainson and Brian Bree was held at Waverley on Friday night. The two lastmentioned were unable to be present. The Chairman, Mr. J. D. Newland, called upon Mr. S. F. Morris to make , a presentation to the guests, and the president of the Football Club presented L/Cpl. Powell with a gift from the club, after which the three guests of , honour expressed their thanks. Messrs. Rogers and Carey played the dance , music. A similar dance in honour of L.A.C. : Boyd, was held the previous Friday ’ and the presentation was made to him ■ by Mr. J. E. Coutts.
